Many of you know that I’m a bookworm — I love reading any and all books. I’ve accumulated quite the faves over the years, so I figured it would be fun to begin a Book Review Series.
Round 1 will be a little difficult for me to narrow down, but I’ll try to choose some recent faves and explain why I love ’em!

This book I purchased on the whim! I actually had never read Big Little Lies, although I have watched the show. However, people rave about Liane, so I figured I would give it a go! This is such a fun love story that teaches so many valuable lessons about relationships, love, heartbreak, and just life, in general. The way it’s written is very ‘calming’. The protagonist is a hypnotherapist and it’s set oceanside, so everything is very peaceful and it was one of those books that was perfect poolside!
Another “on the whim” book that I purchased in an airport. I was desperate for a book and saw this on the bestsellers list. It’s a self-help book that teaches you to well, chill. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t know when to stop working {maybe not *truly* a workaholic, but tendencies to be anxious and stressed about work}, then this will be a helpful read. It taught me a lot of coping strategies for work-related anxiety and I learned how to chill a bit more.
Alrighty, my sci-fi/fantasy side comes out with this book. This is a tried and true book that I’ve read a few times. Whenever someone even hints at enjoying fantasy books, I ask them about this book, because *chances are* they’ve read it. It’s a part of a trilogy called the Kingkiller Chronicles, but we’ve been anticipating the third book for what seems like forever {literally years}. I can see why the books take so long to write — they’re intricate with a deep and woven storyline. The protagonist is also the narrator named Kvothe who tells of his adventures of getting into the ‘University’ {where magic is trained for professional/scientific use}, but there has always been doubt if a magician could truly know and call on the Name of the Wind.
It’s honestly much deeper than this — but this is a good start! Trust me on this one!
I read this during our trip to Mexico and it was amazing. Definitely channeled some To Kill a Mockingbird vibes. It was a fictional drama that kept me on the edge of my seat. The book follows the life of the “Marsh Girl” — how the rumors came to be, what her life was like living without parents in the marshes, and a juicy trial that wraps up the book. I developed so much respect for her and the connection is what made the book so great!

This was a quick, easy, yet creepy read! The book begins with a jealous ex-wife. Her ex-husband is engaged to a new younger woman and he, unfortunately, had moved on so quickly. Her life is quickly derailing, obsessing over this new younger woman and she’s struggling to keep it together. The twist is SO good. You think you know how the book is going, but then BAM! Everything you thought was wrong! Love when that happens.

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
