6 Tips to Clear Your Skin

Happy Wednesday, y’all! I am always receiving questions on my skincare! Granted, usually when you see me hop on Insta Stories or if I’m posting a photo to the ‘gram, I’ve got some makeup on, but I do pride myself in having pretty decent skin.  I make an effort every morning and every evening to take care of my skin in a solid routine.  However, this goes far beyond skincare {although my Tula skincare does help *a lot*}.

Here are my 6 tips to clear your skin!

6 Tips To Clear Your Skin

1) Stay Hydrated

I know, I know. I’m sure you hear this one all the time, but it really is true! When I’m dehydrated, my whole body is affected by it — I tend to have gut issues, I’m irregular, and my skin is more prone to breaking out.  Keep a water bottle near you all day so that you don’t forget to sip some H2O!

2) Wash Your Makeup Brushes

You would be surprised at how dirty your makeup brushes are.  I try to wash mine at least every other week, but I know it can sometimes be difficult to do so.  When I notice that my skin is acting kind of funky, I’ll clean my makeup brushes and beauty blender {with this soap} and I notice my skin react really well to it!

3) Take a Daily Probiotic

Y’all know that I’m all about gut health.  I take the Tula Daily Probiotic to not only keep me regular and to decrease bloat, but also to give my skin some TLC! You would be amazed at what a daily probiotic could do for you!

4) Speaking of…

Speaking of probiotics, ever since I’ve transferred my skin regimen over to Tula Probiotic Skincare, my face hardly breaks out! I apply probiotics to all parts of my life, so why not skincare?! If you haven’t given it a go or if you’re in a skincare rut and are wanting to try something new, try out their Discovery Kit to see how your skin reacts! 5) Greens Supplement

I’ve been incorporating a greens supplement into my daily routine and I’ve really seen a difference in not only my gut health, but my skin as well! I don’t usually get enough fruits and veggies in a day, and mixing some greens into my protein shakes are doing just the trick.  I can usually find a greens supplement at Costco on sale!

6) Hormones

This isn’t everyone’s case, but it’s important to take a look at it! Have you just switched birth control pills? Have you gotten OFF the pill? Are you on any type of medicine that can mess with your hormones? Is it “that time of the month” for you? Adult acne can sometimes be caused by hormonal imbalances! If you think this is the case, consult your doctor.

A big thank you to Tula for sponsoring this post.  As always, all opinions are my own.

  1. Marta says:

When I was a teenager I had really bad acne but when puberty was over it all disappeared and I couldn’t be happier but when I started taking the birth control pill, I started breaking out on my chin (chin breakouts are definitely hormonal) but the pill has reduced my cramps so much I can deal with a few pimples so all of your tips are very helpful, definitely need to check that skincare brand, it seems amazing.

10/27/18 Mr. & Mrs. White

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.

The Proposal

It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.

Dark Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
