I can’t believe it’s 4 months {and one day} until our wedding day! Today, I thought it would be fun to share a little wedding update with y’all.  Mostly everything is done with the big help of my wedding planner, Giselle Callahan {if you’re in the KY or TX area, definitely check her out!}.  We’ve got:

  • church & reception venue booked
  • save the dates out
  • J’s custom tuxedo arrived from Indochino
  • monogram + custom decor has been created from Riley + Ko
  • bridesmaid dresses have been purchased
  • florals chosen
  • band has been hired {we went with 12 South Band}
  • makeup {by Tia Mao} and hair scheduled
  • cake has been designed
  • wedding gifts have been purchased
  • catering menu chosen {my mom is still trying to squeeze some Lebanese food in}
  • rehearsal dinner has been planned.
  • oh, and can’t forget Erin Trimble is *obviously* photographing our wedding and we’ve got Happy Camper Films lined up for our videography {which we are so very excited about}

I’m just waiting on my dress to finally arrive so that I can get it altered.  It should be coming in July and I can’t wait! I’ve also narrowed down our Minted invites to two different ones {really need to make a decision on which one to go with haha}.  We also haven’t picked out J’s wedding band yet, which we’re actually doing tomorrow evening! He wants a gold band {good choice, in my opinion} so we’ll try to find something that’s simple yet unique.

We’ve been waiting on purchasing our flights to Antigua– we’re heading to Carlisle Bay for our honeymoon and we seriously can’t wait {check out their insta here, #swoon}!  There’s only one flight a day that flies there, and it’s at 7 AM…So, we can’t decide if we want to leave the morning after our wedding on Sunday OR Monday morning.  I feel like 5 AM is an early wakeup call, but we’ll be on the beach by 2:00 PM, which is a pretty good trade, if you ask me. Would love to hear your all’s thoughts on it!

Have an amazing Tuesday!

P.S. A big happy birthday to my mama!

You look so lovely together :*

  2. Kim says:

So I had my wedding in the LA area (I’m from Dallas), and my hubs and I stayed in LA for an extra night, then left at 5am the next day.. so on Monday. I’d totally recommend taking a day to just CHILL then leave! You’ll be so emotionally exhausted after the wedding night haha.. so many feels and so much excitement.

    So excited for you!

Oh, I’m sure it feels so nice to check things off of your wedding planning list! My wedding is still over a year away and I already feel a little stressed!

  4. Dani says:

We waited to leave on our honeymoon until Monday morning and happy we did! I was also too anal to leave our gifts wrapped so it was nice to open presents together in our home on Sunday, relax a bit and take our time packing!

  5. Rebekah says:

I would wait til Monday. You will want that Sunday to pack and make sure you have everything. Plus say goodbye to out of town guests. You will be so busy beforehand it’s nice to give yourself time.

  6. Lauren R says:

Hey! It sounds like you’re super on top of everything! In regards to the honeymoon, I highly recommend leaving on the Monday. Take the Sunday to relax and chill out. Have a leisurely breakfast and an afternoon nap. And if you’re leaving Monday, you won’t be worried about leaving really early the next morning on your wedding night – you can just enjoy your special night. Have an amazing time!

  7. Christy says:

We got married last Sep and I would recommend taking a day off to chill and leave Monday morning. It was so great to have that day between to reminisce all the fun the day before. We had a lot of out of town guest so that gave us a chance to have a day after wedding brunch with them and squeeze in more family time. Enjoy! Best moment ever!

  8. Lauren says:

The best advice I got before my wedding was to wait a day or two in between the wedding and leaving for the honeymoon! Getting married this Saturday and we leave Tuesday!

  9. Kristie Bey says:

Hey Grace, I follow your blog from Northern Kentucky, and my fiancé and I are actually getting married the same day as you and J! (Congrats!) We have our honeymoon booked in Mexico for the week after our wedding also. There was another flight option later in the day on Sunday, however, we chose the 7:30am flight. We figured if we need naps when we get there, which is a given, at least we can nap at a cabana on the beach or close to the water! I’m not looking forward to the super early wake up call either, but to get there so early and basically still have most of the day when we arrive was worth it to us!
    Good luck!

    • Hey girl! Love seeing someone ‘local’ stopping by my blog! Those were our thoughts too when it came to leaving the next day! We could nap on the beach ha! Anyways, congrats on your engagement! I’ll say a little prayer for y’all the morning of our weddings! Xx

  10. Andrea says:

Monday morning! You will be so exhausted after the wedding, and the morning after it’s so fun to catch up on all the craziness that went down with friends and family. We took a red eye Sunday night since we went from Oregon to Great Exuma. Sounds like you have everything in order. So exciting!

  11. Jen says:

Sounds like you’ve checked so much off the list! You two are so cute. We took a day in between the wedding and leaving for our honeymoon and it was such a good decision — we got to see family that had flown in/come from far away, order pizzas and just hang out with everyone and relive the prior day before jetting off. Good luck these next 4 months!! 🙂

  12. Monica Bauer says:

Leave on Monday. You won’t be rushed trying to do last min wedding stuff and trying to pack.

  13. Sherri says:

Definitely don’t go on your honeymoon the very next morning- you will be drained! Give yourselves the next day to recover, relax, finish up packing and then go!
So happy for you! Beautiful couple

  14. Allison A says:

I’ve never been married but my coworker (who is married) and I were just talking about honeymoons the other day. Her big of advice was wait to go on the honeymoon by at least a day or two because getting up to go to the airport tired and possibly hung over is no fun!

  15. Georgia says:

I’m also getting married October 27 and also going to Antigua for our honeymoon, lol small world 🙂

  16. Jen says:

Hey, girl! I def say, wait til Monday. What is the reasoning for Leaving Sunday? If you leave Monday, will you miss a day of your vacation? It just seems like a much better idea to wait a day. You’ll be having champagne and cocktails at the wedding {I assume}, and it’s likely you won’t leave the wedding hall til 11-12, so I say, have a nice night with your HUSBAND (how exciting!!!), sleep in, order room service for brecky and then maybe even have a brunch with your out of towners – or not. If you & J want to keep it to just the two of you after the wedding, DO THAT. But don’t rush anything and enjoy every second. You two are lovely.
    (Happy Bday, mama W!!)
    Xoxo, Jen

  17. Alex says:

Getting married next spring! Love reading this check list. My fiancé wants a gold band, too! Classic! 🙂

  18. Lynsey Trager says:

We did the 7am flight the day after our wedding- still running on adrenaline but slept on the plane and got to the beach early afternoon. You also get out of having to do any post wedding breakfasts or anything the next morning and by that time you are more than ready for the beach : )

  19. Nancy Bruce says:

I got married on 05.12 and we had a 10am flight the next morning… we left our house by 6:30 to get to the airport and get through security. It was rough, BUT at the same time it was SOO worth it. We were still on such a high from the wedding, and it just carried over to the honeymoon!

    Love your wedding updates 🙂

  20. Hannah says:

Hi! Love following your page!!! Getting married in December! I’d totally suggest waiting till Monday for your honeymoon. We’re planning to do that and the deciding factor was just having that next day to decompress!!

Question for you- you mentioned getting your gifts done! I’ve gotten the bridal party covered but wondering if you had suggestions for your parents gifts!?

    Thanks!

  21. Rose says:

Congratulations!!! My husband and I are celebrating our second anniversary this summer but it feels like yesterday and your blog is bringing back wonderful memories. I hope we will get to see lots of photos esp. of you in your dress, you will be such a stunning bride!

10/27/18 Mr. & Mrs. White

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.

The Proposal

It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.

Dark Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
