Happy Thursday, y’all, and if you’re a native Kentuckian, Happy Thurby! Last week, I was blessed to be able to spend the week in Delray Beach, Florida with my mama and my sister. We had such a lovely stay at Delray Sands Resort and I’m here today recapping our whole trip for you.
This trip was a sentimental one for me — completely unintentional too, but when I was there, I realized it was one of my last trips as a single gal, especially with my mom/sis. Besides my bachelorette weekend with Mar-Bear, I don’t think I’ll be taking a trip with them again before our wedding day! Crazy to think about.
Anyways, when we arrived, we were *very* nervous about the weather. It showed thunderstorms for two days, but luckily experienced beautiful weather all week. We were greeted by the friendly staff at Delray Sands, which is typical for all Opal Collection Hotels & Resorts.
Many of y’all have seen me stay at so many of the Opal hotels in Florida. Whenever J and I travel, we love staying with them as well, because everyone is so friendly, it’s so luxurious, especially with their amenities, and their in-house restaurants are always amazing. They provide a boutique hotel feel, but without sacrificing in other areas!
We kicked off our trip with cocktails by the beach at the outdoor bar at Delray Sands Resort! If you’ve really been following along, then you know I’m a sucker for their ‘rock-a-rita’ {actually not shown in the photo}. The name changes at every resort, but I order it every time. I believe when J and I went to Zota Beach Resort, it was called the Zota-Rita! I finally got to enjoy this fun cocktail with my mom and sister.
Their award winning in-house restaurant, Latitudes, was quite the hot spot. It was clear that EVERYONE in Delray came to Latitudes to eat and drink. It sits right on the ocean and has a wonderful patio, which is surprisingly hard to find in Delray. The food and cocktails were amazing {see below} and it was so nice to not have to venture far for a good view and even better meal.
The tuna tartare was phenomenal– it had asian-inspired flavors!
I’m honestly surprised the waitress wasn’t judging me for this order. I love my fish simply prepared {especially tuna} with some veggies on the side! I’m still dreaming of this perfectly seared delicious-ness.
I tried a bit of this pork chop {a little bitter that I didn’t order it} and it was probably one of the best pork chops I’ve ever had. I’m not even one to really order pork chops, but this was crazy good.
The outdoor patio at Delray Sands is gorgeous — tons of lounge seating where you can order some lunch or cocktails!
I meaaaaan we had to try dessert. Three different types of creme brulee at Latitudes! Don’t mind if I do…
The beach was just a few steps from the resort! I love when it’s like that because it makes it so easy to go to your room to snag something that you forgot. The pool bar menu is also accessible from the beach! We ordered pina coladas and salads every day!
The last evening we decided to explore downtown Delray. It was so quaint, while still having an exciting vibe. Tons of restaurants, shops, bars, etc all in one place on Atlantic Ave! Highly recommend giving it a go for one of your Delray nights!
This was such an amazing trip, and I can’t wait to head back to Delray Sands Resort to experience more of Delray!
P.S. I flew into Fort Lauderdale, and it was only 20 minutes away!

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
So glad you made it to my hometown! If you ever come back, fly into West Palm because it is closer and so much easier! It’s cool to see pictures of the Ave on your blog!
Wow. Looks like you all had an awesome time and so fashionable too. I have to try this sometime. I was in the area on 4/20 to 4/22 with my boyfriend to visit his old friend. Then after that it was off to South Beach till last Sunday 4/29. I wish I was still there. Hey where is the group picture. (:)
Hi ! I was wondering what size you are wearing in the checkered mini dress? It’s so cute and I want to buy it but it’s only available in medium. I am not sure if that will fit me but you like similar to my size!
Thanks
Hi Brittney! I’m wearing a size medium and I’m usually a size 6! Hope that helps! Xx
