When visiting Wine Country, Andrew and I arrived at Meritage Resort & Spa and were in complete awe! The property was huge! You honestly would never have to leave the resort for anything, that’s how big it is and how much they have to offer.  We were instantly greeted by friendly staff and a gorgeous room with quite the view {it was of the vineyard on one side, and the pool on the other}.  The amenities ranged from one end of the spectrum to the next.  We took full advantage of all of their restaurants on property, and every morning, we started our day with a killer workout in their fitness center.

We also had the amazing experience of tasting their wine from Trinitas Cellars in their Wine Library. We learned all about their wines, how they’re made, and the background of the family {who are Notre Dame alumni by the way}.  They even have a wine named after Pope Francis, where they send cases to him yearly.  I think our favorite wine that we tried was their amarone, made of dried grapes — they let the grapes sit for 140 days — full of body and flavor {but typically pricey!}.

We enjoyed laying by the pool during our stay, snuggling up for long mornings, while reading our favorite books {minus a quick break for catching up on some Silicon Valley, our fave show}.  Meritage Resort & Spa is also only thirty minutes away from San Francisco, so we ended up taking a day trip there and exploring! How breathtaking is the panorama that Andrew took of the Golden Gate Bridge?

If you’re looking for a place to stay in the heart of Napa, this is a great spot to kick back and relax! There are multiple restaurants on property, firepits at night, a gorgeous pool and hot tub area, and of course, vineyards right on property with the Trinitas Estate Cave and a fabulous underground spa {no really, it’s one of the best spas I’ve seen!}.
