I wore this gorgeous little black midi dress a few weeks ago and I’m feeling like I need to bust that bad boy out again. Â A little black dress is always a great go-to outfit, but a little black MIDI dress?! I mean…that’s always my go-to outfit. Â It must be because I’m so tall. Â When pencil midi dresses fit me well, I immediately purchase them, because there’s always somewhere for me to wear it, especially black ones.
This black midi dress is a perfect outfit to wear to a wedding! ‘Tis the season, y’all. Â If your life is anything like mine, then you’ve probably received 101 wedding invites for this spring season. Â I’m in 50% of these weddings, BUT I can’t wear white to anything regardless of if I’m in it or not {and all of my spring clothes are white/cream ha}. Â So, I’ve been trying to stock up on a little black dresses, because I’ll be living in them for the next three months.
I love that this LBD is a midi dress, because it makes it appropriate to wear to certain events, etc. Â Since I’m pretty tall, and even taller with heels, I sometimes get nervous when I’m in a short black dress where I have to be walking around and doing things. Â Don’t get me wrong…I still wear short black dresses all the time, but that’s more for a Friday night out with my friends — not to a wedding event with family around.
Also, the best way to spice up a pretty black dress is to add a statement piece to it! This dress is perfect for a statement necklace or a pair of statement earrings. Â I opted for my favorite pair of turquoise earrings, which I think gave a much-needed pop of color.
Regardless, this lightweight black midi dress is a keeper, because it’s business in the front, and all party in the back! Â Thanks for stopping by today, y’all!

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
I love that it’s simple from the front and then it has such an amazing back! The midi style is so cute, too!
