Hey girl! What's Your Signature Latte? Whether it's a frothy latte or a cold brew, your personality shines through. Find out what your java ingredients are!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been one year since Jordan and I closed on our forever home! This has been a long time coming, so I’m super excited to share our home renovation tour with you. We renovated the full first floor, with minor tweaks upstairs (carpet cleaning, new paint, etc.). We also ended up renovating the basement so that it can be usable and we love cuddling up down there for movie nights.
I feel so grateful that I was able to work with Leslie Cotter Interiors to create the home of our dreams. Leslie nailed it with the earthy yet traditional vibe I was going for and I couldn’t be more pleased. If you’re looking for an interior designer, I highly recommend her: professional, speedy, organized, and most importantly, understands your taste (versus only doing what the designer likes). For the first time EVER, I feel satisfied with our home and decor (actually, more than satisfied). I don’t feel the need to shop for the house or, between me and you, even decorate for fall, because our house is quite literally perfect (for our taste). It’s cohesive, yet unique, and we love every bit of it!
My favorite part of the design work was when Leslie and I met last December for the furniture selections. This huge table in her office was covered with photos of furniture, art, fabric, rug, & paint swatches, and more — all organized by room, including measurements and specs. It was like actually visualizing our whole home completely finished — even though we hadn’t even had walls up quite yet. Plus, do you know what a relief it is to not have to mess with measurements and furniture? Renovating a home can be stressful, but it helps when you have a great designer communicating with the contractors to create a cohesive home that flows. Make sure to check out her portfolio here!
Additionally, Clare Miller Home sourced all of the furniture, so most (if not all) can be purchased through her store. She has stores in Lexington and Louisville, but can order if you’re not local. It was such a breeze, because we didn’t have to worry about delivery, putting together the furniture, and Clare kept tabs on all items, giving us updates for COVID shipping delays etc. Talk about the dream team!
Although there are some parts of the first floor that weren’t photographed, this is a good chunk of the main rooms! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Is it odd that our dining room is our favorite room in the house?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a paint color on the cabinets since they are considered semi-custom. However, you can probably get it color matched at a paint store!
Rug is sourced through a local store.

What is not seen here is another sitting area on the other side of the room. It’s one of my fave areas to lounge and read a book!
The cabinets are also semi-custom, so there isn’t a specific stain for them.

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
