Holiday Book Review: Round 2

YOU GUYS! I’m so excited for today’s holiday book review! We have Round 2 of some really great books that I wanted to share, but this time it’s holiday edition. I love reading a good holiday book this time of year — especially with all of that “extra time” you have on your hands during this next week (do you sense my sarcasm?). Regardless, I love cuddling up on the couch and opting for a fun holiday book instead of a holiday movie. It also comes in handy when your over someone’s house for Christmas and a nice lull comes over the crowd post-dinner.  That’s the time I like to sneak away and read!

Holiday Book Review: Round 2

1. Christmas in Vermont by Anita Hughes

This was such a cute and fun book to read! Plus, it’s short and sweet, so it’s the perfect kind of book to bring when you’re in between holiday meals.  Think of this book as a Hallmark movie in book form — short, sweet, yet still good! This book is all about Emma, the protagonist, who end relationships all the time (none of them last longer than a year) and chooses to work and focus on other things during the holidays.  She decides to spend Christmas with her best friend, but she sees something that reminds her of her college sweetheart (which was her first true love) and suddenly she can’t stop thinking about him.  Her BFF finds out that Fletcher (the college sweetheart) is staying at an inn in Vermont for Christmas and she should spend the holidays there (honestly, kinda creepy thinking about this, but in the book it seemed normal ha). She ends up going and Fletcher is engaged and has a child who doesn’t seem to like the fiance! Fancy that. You get to see her relationship with Fletcher progress and an old flame reignite. This book is such a fun and easy read during the holidays — perfect for a snowy Christmas day!

2. Selected Poems by Robert Frost

Surely, I’m not the only one who loves Robert Frost? His poems are amazing and if these don’t put you in a winter-y mood, then I don’t know what does.  Plus, this book looks great setting out! If you’re not in the mood to read a full book, but want something to put you in the mood — highly recommend keeping these selected poems on hand!

3. Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory

Another fun and quick read by Guillory! I’ve actually read a couple of her other books and she’s a great author, so I was excited to read this holiday one.  The quick recap is that Vivian is asked to spend Christmas in England with her daughter, Maddie, who just got hired as a personal stylist for the Royal Duchess. Maddie doesn’t want to spend Christmas overseas alone, and Vivian has never been overseas — BUT, Vivian feels like she can’t just get up and go last minute (#stressful).  She has a lot of stuff going on at work, etc., but her daughter convinces her to spend Christmas in England, where the story unfolds.  Vivian ends up meeting Malcom, who is secretary to the Queen, and a love story develops between the two. There are so many great moments and I love how you get to know each character so well.  This is such a great holiday inspired story that will have you wanting to read more!

10/27/18 Mr. & Mrs. White

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.

The Proposal

It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
