Y’all know that J and I L-O-V-E a good date night! Spending quality time together is so important for us, and we rarely get to do that on the weekdays because of work.  That’s why when the weekend hits, we always try to spice it up with date night and catch up on the past week! Here are 5 date night ideas that we absolutely love!

  1. Dinner & Drinks: this is an obvious one, but one that we absolutely love.  J and I are foodies, but we especially love going to an intimate restaurant {you know the ones, small with farm-to-table foods, darker where the table is lit by candlelight, and a good bottle of wine}.  We then plan to grab drinks afterward at either a ‘speak-easy’ or rooftop bar.  We catch up on the previous week by talking about anything and everything and we get to spend quality time with just us.
  2. Have A Picnic: Okay, so since I’m not too outdoorsy, we usually have a *take* on a picnic.  We stop by a local market, pick up some artisan cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers, and a sweet treat.  Can’t forget a bottle of our fave wine {usually Prisoner}.  In a large picnic basket {or cooler}, we fill the goodies with it, including 2 wine glasses.  I’m not one to sit on the ground LOL, so we head to an area at the waterfront that has some picnic tables!
  3. Go to a Charity Event: J and I have been doing this lately.  It’s a great way to have a fun time while still giving back.  We usually meet our friends there, but some other times, we go solo and enjoy the evening with just us two. We usually do some damage during the silent auction too!
  4. Go to a Museum: we love this one! We go to a museum and then grab a quick bite after.  Our fave is the Speed Art Museum, but we’re a little biased since it’s where our wedding reception was.  On a serious note, it is by far the best museum in Lou!!
  5. Go to a Play/Show: We love snagging some tickets for a show downtown and grabbing dinner beforehand.  We typically head to Milkwood {downstairs} and then see a show at Actors Theatre {upstairs}. It’s such a fun and unique date night!
  1. Marta says:

I’m single but I still found this very interesting as sometimes I run out of ideas for what to do with my friends. Both my best friend and I have studied art so going to museums is something we should definitely do more often so thanks for the idea!

  2. Kendal says:

I love these ideas! I’ve been wanting to go for a picnic for the longest time. I actually haven’t been to any of the museums in Boston, I need to!

10/27/18 Mr. & Mrs. White

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.

The Proposal

It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.

Dark Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
