I had been eyeing this embroidered smock top for SO long, and for some reason, I just couldn’t pull the trigger to buy it.  It comes in right at under $50, but I still was hung up on the details of this so-called ‘dress’. Yep, you heard that right, it claims to be a ‘dress’ (WHAT?!).  Yeah, that dress could fit an American Girl Doll.  So, I kept thinking to myself: there’s literally no way I can wear that as a dress {I’m 5 foot 9} AND if I wear it as a top, it’s going to look awkwardly long {you know how that goes}.  After deliberating for quite awhile–I’m not kidding, about three weeks–I was like screw it, I’m buying it.

Oh boy, it did NOT disappoint! I had already mentally prepared myself that it was going to be one of those situations where I don’t even bother trying on because I know it’s a lost cause.  I’m so glad that it surpassed my expectations! I actually LOVE it.  I mean, it’s adorable as a top {not a dress}.  Yeah, it’s a little longer than other tops, but it has the perfect amount of length to be considered a ‘smock top‘ rather than a ‘smock dress’.  It’s a gauze-y material, so it’s super light, but somehow, not see-through.  I didn’t wear anything under this bad boy and it was fine.  It’s perfect for those scorching hot days that seem to be a frequent thing here in KY.

Overall verdict: love love love this top.  I love it so much that I bought it in navy…and now I realized that they also have it in black.  {Sorry, wallet}.
