When I first saw this dress, I knew I had to get it.  I’ve been on the lookout for a black midi dress, and when I saw that this also had a peplum, I was sold.  Since the dress is so pretty, I decided to keep it simple.  I paired it with some simple gold tassel earrings and nude pumps.

I wore this outfit last weekend in Dallas for the rewardStyle conference during LIKEtoKNOW.it’s first birthday party.  I was wanting to discuss the conference in a post last week, but it was finals week for me, so I delayed it for a bit {cut me some slack!}.  In Dallas {we stayed at The Joule}, I roomed with Sydney from Summer Wind and Kendall from Styled Snapshots.  We had SUCH a great time and they’re such fun girls! We had a little too much bubbly Saturday night {err or both nights} and ended up staying out way too late–and long story short, it was a blast.

Overall, the conference was extremely inspiring and motivating, and I loved getting to meet so many great bloggers and members of the rewardStyle team! I love getting to chat with anyone and everyone.  I always like taking advice from people in different fields than me, just because you learn so much that you wouldn’t have otherwise.  As many of y’all know, I’ll be graduating soon with my M.Eng degree and I am currently job hunting.  Yeah, that has nothing to do with the ‘business’ of blogging, but I find it important to gain an understanding of all fields.  So, I decided to chat with not just bloggers, but web developers, account consultants, marketing gurus, etc. {pretty much everyone}.  Of course, I asked advice on ‘blogging stuff’, but I also was really intrigued on how they got to be where they are.  For example, how an architect became one of the best web developers {true story} and how sometimes you have to sacrifice things like ‘pay’ to do what you love.  I came back home with so much more knowledge–both blog and non-blog related, and I’m very grateful for being able to experience such a fantastic conference!
