Hey girl! What's Your Signature Latte? Whether it's a frothy latte or a cold brew, your personality shines through. Find out what your java ingredients are!
One of the most important things necessary for great outfit photos that is often not given much thought is WHERE you’ll be taking your outfit photos. Try to center it around what you’re wearing because the background really sells the theme of what you’re wearing. If you’re wearing something preppy that has a nautical theme, it really wouldn’t make much sense if you were standing in the middle of a forest after all. Drive around and you’ll be surprised at what you can find. Grace and I keep a list on our phones so that we can remember all of the good spots we’ve found.
This snowy backdrop just makes sense for this winter themed shoot where Grace is wearing gloves, a sweater and a quilted jacket. |
Also, make sure to take into account the color of your outfit. Try and pick a location where the background has coordinating colors to the ones in your outfit so that the contrast makes the outfit that you’re photographing really stand out in the picture.
The contrast of the solid green wall behind Grace really draws your attention to her outfit and accessories. |

There’s not a day that goes by when I don’t feel so blessed to be Jordan’s wife. He is my everything. These photos and video are the sweetest reminder of our love for one another. So, grab a cup of coffee, pull up a seat, and try not to bawl your eyes out (because I know we did). Every time we look through our photos and watch our video, we cry the happiest tears.
It’s crazy what can happen in a year. I met the love of my life and the rest is history. I was having a hard time ending this post, because frankly, I think I could talk about that evening forever. Then I realized that this post doesn’t have an ending, but instead, a beginning. Thank you so much for all of the love, excitement, and gratitude.
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is bake my dark chocolate chip pumpkin bread! I’ve made it *so* many times for me, J, and friends & family. It’s moist, decadent, and super easy to make! It also makes for a great DIY housewarming gift.
You always have great tips!

So much truth to picking the background, but I find I usually am too tight on finding a photographer and time so just shoot near my house usually.

Perfect tips, I've been taking snaps of possible locations on my phone since it tracks the actual location anyway. Just need to find a willing photographer now hahahaha!

Since I live in a city, I've found great graffiti walls that add a cool urban punch to blog photographs! Driving a few blocks in any given direction – and always having a camera on hand – always help. Great tips and pics!

Such a great post!! Now if I could talk my husband into driving to a fun location instead of stepping out in our back yard! 😉
